What Could Itchy Ears While A Cold Infection Suggest?

I just got over a cold. While I was sick I was hearing a crackling in my left ear along with some itching. Now I have pain inside my left ear concentrating under my left earlobe. I especially feel the pain when I cough on bend. I have suffer from frequent sinus headaches and occasional dizzy spells. Any idea on what this could be?
