What Could Menstrual Bleeding With Blood Clots Suggest?

I recently had a baby 7 weeks ago, i passed blood clots that had stopped and then i had my first period after 3 weeks of giving birth. Since tuesday i have been passing clots, and i am now losing a signifcant amount of blood and have severe stomach pains. could this be related or something completely different?
