What Could Mucus In Nose Post Surgery Suggest?

I had nose surgery in 2010, since then my nose is always running. Lately, I have been noticing streaks of black in my mucus. I use the netizens pot, with mucinex, but feel as if a golf ball sized mucus ball is stuck in my nasal cavity...very annoying, since I am an opera singer.
