What Could Painful Skin In Lower Back And Sides When Touched Indicate?

Hi, I have a skin question. I don't always feel skin pain. However, when my husband gently rubs my back it occasionally feels like he's pinching my back. I am not sure what would be causing this? It's mostly my lower back to my sides that I feel the pain.
