What Could Premature Ovarian Follicles Suggest?

if my vaginal ultrasound shows that my right ovary is smal and left ovary not showing "follicles"...dr diagnosed me with premature ovarian failure...i have regular periods...is it possible that my ovaries were just under-performing at the time and that they will start "working" again?
