What Could Pulling Sensation On Right Side Of Head Behind The Ear Indicate?

I have been having problems with the right side of my head about 2 inches behind my ear. It feels like I have my hair caught on something and it is pulling it. I have had my husband look to see if maybe I had an ingrown hair or damaged hair folicle. He could not see any thing wrong. This is very annoying and sometimes lasts for 2 to 3 days at a time. What can this be. I am 49 years old and female.
