What Could Rashes On Penis Head Suggest?

After sex on Sunday I noticed a small red rash at the top base of my penis (hairline area). The rash is gone for the most part but there are two tiny scabs still present. I'm always concerned about genital warts because my wife had an abnormal pap smear about 6 years ago showing she had HPV. I've never developed anything. Is it possible to develop a rash due to intercourse with maybe a skin irritation due to moisture? We had sexual intercourse several times over the weekend.
