What Could Sore Throat With Dry Cough Post Sex Suggest?

This is kind of embarassing but I gave my boyfriend oral sex and after I started coughing. It started out a dry cough and the next day it became kind of hacking. I now have cold like symtoms, aches, and have been running a fever off and on. No history of STDs. Did I just irritate my throat enough to get an infection?
