What Could Swollen, Discolored And Numb Toes Indicate?

The middle three toes on my left foot looks swollen, they are a little red with some purple in the middle of it. It feels numb, but then it felt itchy halfway when I was taking a shower. I don't know if I hit them. And I don't know how long exactly it's been swollen since I've been wearing socks lately, I just noticed it today. Should I see a doctor?
