What Could Swollen Tonsil With Sore Throat Suggest?

My left tonsil/adenoid is swollen and sore (the right is normal). It hurts to chew, as though it is in the way a bit. I don't have a sore throat and am healthy - no cold or feelings of illness otherwise. Likely unrelated; but, several weeks ago the lymph node on the left side was swollen; but, it recessed after several days. Is there cause for concern? Should I see a doctor about this?
