What Could The Painless Bump On Penis Shaft Be?

I have a painless cratered bump on the lower left side on the shaft of my penis. It start as a large bump that i squeezed releasing puss. After that was gone the cratered indent remained. It was just that but after a few weeks of picking at it a couple small hard non cratered bumps appeared beside it that i can feel under my skin. Ive been putting creme on it and it has gone down, but Tm still freaked out. I don't have any herpes like symptoms and it doesn't cause me discomfort. I have had safe sexual intercourse.
