What Could Vaginal Bleeding A Week After Periods Indicate?

I just recovered from a stomach virus which included a good deal of vomiting and diarrhea. This morning I woke up and had some menstrual bleeding but I just finished my period about a week ago. I'm definitely not pregnantbased on recent activities. I'm also on an IUD. Kind of virus have somehow triggered a period?
