What Could White Itchy Skin Patches On Arm Suggest?

hi,i am staying in bangalore & got a white patches on my arm due to itching. its about 45 days now & i feel it has also started spreading. i also consulted skin specialist he recomended me some tablets & crem which is of no use. please give me some idea about it.i am 27yrs & a lady
