What Do Irregular Periods With Cramps After Appendix Removal Suggest?

Hi, I m an otherwise healthy 43 y/o female who had my appendix emergently removed in November 2014 (with preop fevers of 104.8 F). I ve had irregular periods since - and admittedly the lowest incision is close to, if not on the edge of the fundus. For the last 15 d I have been bleeding multiple times daily, now with mild cramping but initially w/o. Usually my periods last 3-4 days maximum. No chills or fevers just fatigue (low iron?) and the symptoms described. Do you think this warrants further work up?
