What Do This Test Result For Chronic Back Pain Indicate?

I have had several back surgeries, and the past year I have been having chronic pain in my lower back and pain in the buttock on the right side going down the bursa. An MRI revealed a herniated disc L1 and L2, Also had MRI of hip and it revealed a gluteus medius tendon at the attachment of the greater trochanter of the femur andfluid in the bursa. I am currently scheduled for surgery to repair the tear of the tendon. Could this tear be causing the lower back pain?
