What Do Weight Loss And Slurred Speech Indicate?

My good friend was experiencing a 30 lb weight loss in one month and a mass on his thigh. When he went for an ultrasound they said they couldn t find the mass. 3days later he was experiencing slurred speech and is now in the hospital. They said not cancer, I m skeptical. Any thoughts?
