What Do White Spots On Gum Indicate When On Antibiotics For Tonsillitis?

Hi I am on antibiotics for tonsilitis. My doesn't appear to have the same white spots on his tonsils that I do but he has got a small cluster of white pin pick looking spots on his gum between his teeth and tonsils, which today are starting to bleed a little around the edge. He doesn't have a sore throat. What could this be and does he need to be seen by a doctor?
