What Does A MRSA Carrier Mean?

thank you.....I recently had a total knee replacement.....when I went for the Pre Ad testing I was informed that I was a MRSA carrier. I had to purchase an antibacterial ointment and insert same into my nose as far as I could reach. What does carrier mean? AND do I have MRSA?
