What Does A Brown Line From Wrist To The Elbow Indicate?

I have a line from my wrist to my elbow on the thumb side of my right arm. It is reddish brown in color. I noticed it first a couple of weeks ago. It seems to fade and then show again. It never completely goes away. I have no pain or swelling. What could this be?
