What Does A Ferritin Level Of 2979 Indicate?

My mother received two units of blood before the results of her iron level was seen. Her lab results showed a ferritin level of 2979 while the high end of normal is 150. She has had 39 units of blood in 19 months. She will not be treated because she has only one kidney and because of the side effects of the treatment. What can I expect her symptoms to be and when will her iron level return to normal?
