What Does A Lump In Groin Area Indicate?

I have a lump on my groin near the crease to my leg. Went to the doc and he sent me for an ultra sound. Then from there went for blood work and a biopsy. It came back as an infected hair foliclle. Now it has started to bleed. This happened while I was asleep. Should I be concerned with the bleeding?
