What Does A Lump On Scalp Indicate?

My stomach was unsettled yesterday and today I discovered a large lump on the back of my scalp. There is no pain or itching associated with the lump, but I find it rather unnerving. Also, I did not feel quite up to strength today during my workout. I'm wondering if something bit me or if the lump is something much more serious.
