What Does A Mild Case Of Esophageal Varices Feel Like If One Of Them Bleeds?

What does a mild case of esophageal varices (2+) feel like if one of them bleeds? I have cirrhosis and woke up this morning with small amount of blood around my mouth and on pillow, and coughed up brown once or twice. I am a non-smoker. I haven't had any other symptoms all day except a dull nagging ache in my throat, could I have had a small bleed that clotted?
