What Does A Mole On Face Indicate?

I have a mole on my face that I am concerned about and I don t know what to do. It s about the size of a green pea and it does nt hurt or anything. One time maybe 6 to 8 months ago the mole crusted over and it started itching really bad so I was scratching it and it came off. The whole thing came off and the area was smooth. I could see a shaded area but nothing else. After about a month or two the mole came back. It s the same size as before but now it has nt crusted over but when it itches and I scratch it it fells like it s really attached and sometimes it will hurt alittle, maybe I scratched to much. I would like to get an idea as to what this might be.
