What Does A Retroverted Uterus With A Hypoechoic Focus And Ovaries Showing Multiple Follicles Indicate?
The uterus is retroverted and normal in size measuring approximately 4.20 x 3.63 x 3.33 cms (LWT). It shows a homogenous parenchymal echopattern. An ovoid susberosal hypoechoic focus measuring about 1.03 cm is noted in its anterofundal region. No other definite myometrial mass lesions. The endometrium is echogenic measuring approximately 1.05 cm thick. The endometrial canal is empty. The cervix measures approximately 2.41 x2.45 cm. (LT). It exhibits homogenous parenchymal echopattern with regular contours and no focal mass lesions. The cervical canal is closed. The right and left ovaries are well-defined measuring approximately 3.25 x2.65 x2.37 cm (volume of 10.61 cc) and 2.58 x 2.08 x 1.88 cms LWT (volume of 5.25 cc), respectively. Right ovary is mildly echogenic with presence of more than 20 tiny ovoid anechoic mostly peripheral follicles within. Left ovary is hypochoic with presence of about 12 ovoid anechoic follicles within, the largest of which measures approximately 0.81 cm. No lesions seen in both sides.
