What Does An MRI Report Showing Mild T2 Hyperintense Lesions In The White Matter, Chronic Ischemic Changes, And No Acute Ischemia Indicate?
Had this MRI report findings...An overall mild amount of T2 hyperintense lesions supratentorially in the white matter bilaterally. These in part involve the periventricular deep white matter in a confluent fashion, and a few scattered subcortical hyperintense foci are also seen. These are felt to represent chronic ischemic changes, in part due to microvascular ischemia, but in the case of subcortical lesions embolic etiology is not excluded. There is no acute ischemia. SWI sequences reveal no evidence of blood products in the parenchyma of the brain. What does this mean
