What Does An Indentation On The Upper Arm Indicate?

I suddenly have an indentation on my upper arm.(deltoid muscle) There is a small quarter size rash there that is rough feeling and pinkish. I have no pain. I didn't have an injection there and I have not done anything to press continually on that area. Could you tell me what caused this or if I need to be concerned?
