What Does Anemic Condition Indicate?

I am 62, male in good health, I take high blood pressure medication which is under control; 120 s /70 s, and taking thyroid med. for hypothyroidism which is also under control. I found out I am anemic; what may this be a symptom of? Thank you in advance
