What Does Bloody Discharge From Rectum Indicate?

I am having bloody discharge from my rectum. It looks like clotted blood. I haven t seen any blood in my stool yet. I had a colonoscopy in April that was normal except The doctor said I have a hemorrhoid, but I have not really had any symptoms. I have been taking iron for several months and recently stopped. Could this be a contributing factor?
