What Does Brown Discharge Followed By Light Bleeding Indicate?

Hi ,I am married for 2 years now. I am trying for baby from last one year.I have a regular period 25-28 days cycle. I recently visited a Gynac. She advised me to take deviry 10 mg twice a day for five days and b-long-f one ablet for thirty dyas. Now is a time for my period. I had brown spotting for 3 days followed by light bleeding. I am confused now. I never had periods this way.
