What Does Discharge Of Pus From A Sore Skin Tag Indicate?

I have a skin tag under my arm and it's been there for as long as I can remember. It has never hurt, but I woke up this morning and it was really sore and I squeezed it and a bunch of puss came out and I noticed it had grown. Is this something I should be worried about?
