What Does Excessive Bleeding After Removal Of Mirena Indicate?

I have had a Mirena device removed after 5 years. I am 51 years of age and wanted to see what my body would do on it's own without any hormonal intervention particularly as I experianced daily migraines that I feel the Mirena device worsened. I have started bleeding heavily and passing clots which my GP has prescribed Primolut N for the next 10 days and then to reassess. What are my options for both bleeding and migraine management? Thanks
