What Does Fluid Discharge From Cyst On Back Indicate?

I had what I thought was cyst on my lower back for a few years, It didn t become inflamed or grow at all so I wasn t concerned. two weeks ago it ruptured and went flat. However since then It is discharging a clear fluid with an unpleasant odour but has not grown again. What can I do?
