What Does Gooey, Light Brownish Vaginal Discharge Suggest?

I have a question about my vaginal discharge; i wear pantiliners and when I use the restroom it's light-brownish color, with an odor, and if there is discharge it would come out very gooey. i have been having this problem for some time now and i don't know what to do. also it hurts when having sexual interactions.
