What Does Having A Sore Rib, One Of The Smaller

What does having a sore rib, one of the smaller ribs on the lower right hand side mean? There has been no injury, trauma, etc., but it just doesn't feel normal. It's not painful, but slightly sore to the touch when you push on the anterior end of the rib .
