What Does Lower Abdominal Pain Just Prior To IUI Indicate?

I had an iui a few days back. On the morning of IUI being done, I had terrible pain in lower abdomen and was even finding it difficult to walk. Does that mean I had already been ovulating and iui done after 5-6 hrs of pain starting would not be that successful if it was done before ovulation? My doc told me I had OHSS and thats why I was having the pains. But they did not tell me if the eggs were ruptured already by the time I got iui done but I am assuming that the pain/cramps started that morning only may be it was due to ovulation happening. So, wanted to confirm what are the chances of pregnancy in that case? Also they did transvaginal usg just before an hour of IUI with using some gel which they did not wipe out. Can that interfere with my iui?
