here is my MRI results: I m in alot of pain in my left hip/butt and down my left leg with lots of numbness and tingling. I was advised by my doctor to a Neurosurgeon. I m unsure of what to do... MRI LUMBAR SPINE TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Multisequential, multiplanar MR imaging was performed through the lumbar spine. FINDINGS: The bone marrow signal is within normal limits. The alignment is anatomic. The conus medullaris terminates at L1. LEVEL BY LEVEL FINDINGS: L1-2: Negative. L2-3: Negative. L3-4: There is a large left paracentral disc extrusion effacing the lateral recess with impingement of the descending L4 nerve root. The left neural foramen, right lateral recess and right neural foramen are patent. L4-5: There is bilateral facet hypertrophy. There is no significant central canal, lateral recess or neuroforaminal narrowing. L5-S1: There is prominent epicardial fat. There is no significant disc bulge, central canal stenosis or neuroforaminal narrowing. IMPRESSION: L3-4 LARGE LEFT PARACENTRAL DISC EXTRUSION EFFACING THE LATERAL RECESS WITH IMPINGEMENT OF THE DESCENDING L4 NERVE ROOT. THE LEFT NEURAL FORAMEN, RIGHT LATERAL RECESS AND RIGHT NEURAL FORAMEN ARE PATENT.
