What Does My Bone Density Test Report Indicate?

My bone density test shows some bone loss. my Dr. says I need to start Fosamax 35 mg once a week and recheck the Dexa Scan in one year. What the heck is fosamax and whats up with once a week? is it a pill, shot or what and how come once a week. this sounds wierd. thanks, cory
