What Does My Lung Biopsy Report With Abundant Necrosis, Granulomatous Inflammation, And Positive PAS Stains For Fungal Organisms Mean?
I had a lung biopsy done with the following on the report. Abundant necrosis with granulomatous inflammation and reactive changes. PAS stains positive for fungal organisms. Negative for acid fast bacilli on AFB stain. PAS highlights scattered fungal spores (non-budding) suggesting possible cryptococcus. What does this mean in people terms? Thanks
