What Does Pain In Toe And Ankle Joints Radiating To Waist Suggest?

I am suffering from Uric acid for last 4 yrs. joint pains migrate from toe to ankle to wrist from time to time. I take precaution in diet. But still every month the problem occurs. Should I go for thyroid or arthritis tests. What are the name of those tests. Pl help
