What Does Peeling Skin On Armpit Indicate?

I recently realized my armpit is quite white, and it seems to be a layer of peeling skin, along with that its very red too. Little (and large) peices of "skin" are hanging of my hair whenever i take off my shirt. I have been using deodorant that i have used for the past few months. I have taken a shower but after a while i checked again and not as much but still plenty of peeling skin. It's hard to explain as I have never seen this before on me or anyone i know. help?
