What Does Purple Circle Bruise Indicate?

I have a purple circle type bruise. It is just below my hysterectmy scar. It is sore like a bruise. The center is normal lookinf but seems to have a hard lump beneath. The whole thing is about 4 inches across. Any help here would be deeply apprciated.
