What Does Puss Oozing Skin Tag On Thigh Suggest?

Hi, I have had a skin tag for as long as I have been a little boy (21 now) and it is on my upper leg in my thigh area. Just recently I noticed pus on it and squeezed it out. I don t have an infection anywhere near that area or at all on my body. What could be the cause of this?
