What Does Rare Epithelial Cells In A Smear Test Indicate?

iv done a smear test and result showed rare epithelial cells. this smear was carried out after i have seen blood spotting for around 13 days when my menstruation was supposed to be. i was also diagnosed with PCOS my concern is the rare cells . what does it refer to please? thank you
