What Does Reddish Purple Knee Indicate?

I am 61 year old female in pretty good health. I just showered and saw that my left knee is completely reddish purple - the whole top of knee. No pain at all and have not knelt on it all day. I worked from my desk at home for a few hours only. Never had this happen before
