What Does Redness, Irritation And Slight Swelling In Vaginal Opening Mean?

On the left sided vaginal opening, there has been irritation and slight swelling. it isn't extremely unbareable but then again, i've only had this for about 2 days. i've tried ice packs but it doesn't seem to help. it is a little red in colour also. what could it be?
