What Does Severe Pain In The Upper Abdomen And Back Indicate?

I am female, 53, and have had intermittent upper stomach and upper back pain sometimes with nausau. My stomach seems gassy and stools were somewhat irregular the first 2 days but seem more normal now. No fever and otherwise feel ok. I work at a school with 4 and 5 year olds.
