What Does Small Cuts On Penis After Intercourse Suggest?

Hi, I recently had a yeast infection (so my doctor thought) and it has now cleared up. The other day, my boyfriend and I had sex and he complained of pain on the left side of his penis. We examined his penis to find there were small cuts on the skin and it looked a little scarred/red. What might be the problem?
