What Does Sound In Ear And Neck Pain Indicate?

I have been hearing crickets in my left ear for the past several months. I'm 49 yrs old and take no medication. My blood pressure is normal and have no other health issues except one. The only other problem is a pain in the lower back of the neck that comes and goes. But I can hear crickets without the neck pain and vice versa. Sometimes the crickets can drive me crazy. I've been thinking of going to a ENT doctor. Any ideas? Help!
