What Does Spots On Lungs Indicate?

Hello....I am actually inquiring about my Mother. She has spots on her lungs which have been biopsied and are not cancer. She has had vasculitis and had nodules on her lungs from that. We were told these look different, that is why they did the biopsy. What else could it be?
